Belgrade, October 14, 2015 – Today, Telenor Banka introduced the first online credit line offer in Serbia. This unique offer is actually a 3-in-1 product. The credit line can be used as a revolving credit card or as a loan for refinancing existing debts with additional available funds for spending or contactless online payments, such as utility or electric bills.
“With the introduction of the first online credit line, our banking value proposition is complete. By applying the synergy of telco and financial solutions, we continue to bring innovations and drive further development of online banking in Serbia. Telenor Banka has become the fastest growing online bank in the region, and in only 12 months the number of m-banking users has more than doubled – accelerating growth at rate from 6-12% to 31% per quarter,” says Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia and President of Telenor Banka’s Management Board.
In addition to the credit limit of up to 1,000,000 dinars with 26% interest and the maximum grace period of 45 days, this line of credit product goes a step further and enables online payments via the Internet or mobile apps from the credit account. If payments are made using the Bill on Click option, the transactions are completed without any commissions. As a refinancing loan, it offers the possibility to opt for the revolving model repayment or split the amount into installments. Customers can also make internal and external payments to other accounts at Telenor or any other banks, make internal transfers to current accounts, or send money to emails or mobile phone numbers using the app and at lower fees.
“We are very proud of the fact that online and mobile banking is becoming an increasingly frequent option among customers in Serbia, who choose us as their reliable partner in their everyday banking business. As a member of Telenor, our aim is to be loved by customers, and in just one year, we have formed a steady foundation for further development. According to Ipsos surveys, Telenor Banka has the highest Net Promoter Score of 47% (NPS), compared with the second highest score of 21% on the market,” says Martin Navratil, Chairman of Telenor Banka’s Executive Board.
With over 100,000 opened accounts, Telenor Banka represents the fastest growing online bank in the region and offers its customers innovative services that combine telco and finances. Among the additional benefits of the first credit line in the online banking is also the possibility of advanced credit MasterCard card management over the Internet or the mobile app. This way, customers can save the time planned for going to the bank and do it all online, in just a couple of clicks.
The use of online banking in Serbia has spiked by 20% in the past 12 months. In addition, the NBS data shows that with a million more completed transactions, online banking has exceeded the turnover at branch offices for the first time ever.
