Mobi Banka: Half a million customers in the sixt year of business


More than 50 million transactions, the Bank's capital increased more than twice in a year


Mobi Banka has opened its half millionth current account, once again confirming that it is one of the fastest growing mobile and online banks in the region. In the course of the sixt year of the Bank's operation in Serbia, the accelerated growth comes as a result of an even better cooperation with Telenor, with which, in addition to a common vision, the Bank shares its owner – PPF Group, one of the leading European investors in telecommunications and banking. 

“Mobi Banka and Telenor are even more closely connected as part of the same family. At the same time, we are part of many families in Serbia and for all of them, our motto is - there is no stopping, in realizing the vision of a humane and better banking", said Marija Popović, President of the Executive Board at Mobi Banka. 

Popović pointed out that the growth of the Bank, the market, and also the security of the financial system and citizens would not be possible without the National Bank of Serbia, which raises the bar year after year in innovation and openness among central banks worldwide.

“Today's half a million that we are celebrating is not just the number of current accounts, but half a million citizens of Serbia who have chosen a new generation of banking, tailored to customers and their needs. The prizewinner, our half a millionth customer is Sonja Stefanović, a teacher from Pirot, who on this occasion received the Samsung S10+ as a gift and a year of free use of multi-currency Progressive account, which offers a range of services with affordable fees.

Following the dynamic growth in the number of clients, Mobi Banka increased its capital more than twice in 2019, compared to the previous year. Since its founding, over 50 million transactions were made through Mobi Banka, of which almost 35 million were payments made by cards, 6.5 million transactions made at ATMs in dinars and euros, almost 1.6 million one-click bill payments, and non-cash transfer of money to a phone number or email was made over 2.6 million times.
