June 14, 2017 – In less than three years of operations, the 300.000th current account has been opened in Telenor Banka in Serbia. The account was opened by Branka Cvijović, from Belgrade, who was presented with Samsung S8 handset on that occasion.
“Two and a half years of successful operations and 300,000 customers best illustrate the need of the citizens of Serbia for across-the-board mobile and online banking services. Constant growth of the number of opened current accounts motivates us to further develop Bank’s services and the market of mobile financial services in Serbia”, says Miloš Brusin, Chairman of Telenor Banka’s Executive Board.
Since the beginning of Telenor Banka’s operations in Serbia, the banking market has undergone major changes. Citizens of Serbia are more and more turning to online banking, which is best attested to by the fact that in the last year alone a 20% growth was registered in the use of this type of banking. It is projected that the accelerated development of mobile banking, with doubled number of users in 2016 alone, will soon exceed the number of online users.

My first customer impression is the comfort an online bank offers me“, says Branka Cvijović, Banka’s three hundred thousandth customer, an architect and a professor of Technical School of Civil Engineering “Branko Žeželj”.
Telenor Banka was opened in September 2014 and soon became the fastest growing online bank in the region. The banking was transformed from waiting in queues for paying bills to a possibility of sending money directly to recipient’s e-mail or mobile phone, and filing loan requests online, without going to the bank. Over a mobile application, both debit and credit cards of Telenor Banka can be adjusted and suited to personal needs, while as of recent mCash is also at the customers' disposal.
