100 thousand completely online loans in Mobi Banka

Belgrade, November 29th, 2021 - Mobi Banka has issued more than 100 thousand fully online cash loans. This figure shows that in addition to the digitalization of transactional banking, a huge leap forward was made in the digitalization of credit products on the Serbian market.

All the necessary data for issuing cash loans, cards, or allowed account overdraft, is forwarded quickly and easily thanks to the "My data for bank" service via the eGovernment portal. This service allows citizens to replace earnings certificates issued by employers.

"The milestone of over 100 thousand issued online loans reflects the success of our strategy as the first online and digital bank in the region, but it is also an indicator of the impressive degree of digitalization of Serbia. For this partnership in digitalization, we must thank the Government of Serbia, the National Bank of Serbia and the Governor personally, without whom this wouldn’t be possible", said Marija Popović, a member of the executive board of Mobi Banka.

Easy loans with eGovernment

If you are not a user of eGovernment, you can download the credentials for secure login with two-factor authentication from Mobi Banka advisors in Telenor shops. So far, Mobi Banka has issued more than 1,200 parameters for registration on the eGovernment portal.

After logging in to the portal, the "My data for bank" service is launched from the service menu. The data is then, with consent, immediately forwarded to the bank. After that, customers can select the desired credit product on the internet app of Mobi Banka in the Product Catalog.

More than 220 thousand digital devices microcredited

The National Bank of Serbia adopted a package of temporary measures in 2020 to simplify and speed up the procedure for approving small loans with a shorter repayment period.

"In the previous year, alongside Telenor, we have credited the purchase of more than 220 thousand mobile phones in interest-free installments. It is the most massive product of our bank, but also a great incentive for further development of digitalization. It is clear from this product that microcrediting in Serbia is sustainable in the long run, and that it represents a great benefit for citizens", said Aleksandar Bogdanović, Chief Commercial Officer of Mobi Banka.

The COVID measures of the National Bank mitigated the effects of the crisis by providing citizens with easier access to funds and the possibility of microcredits, and banks with the possibility of further product development.

"We believe that with minimal changes to existing regulations, it is possible to create even more stimulating conditions for the development of microcredit, without jeopardizing the intention of the regulator to prevent excessive indebtedness of citizens. Increasing the upper limit of microcredits would enable all citizens to afford the most modern devices, and stimulate further economic growth", added Marija Popović.
